There is nothing quite like waking up to the smells of something cooking on Christmas morning. That was the inspiration behind this dish. I wanted to create something that taste like the holidays and all the warm feelings that come with it!

French Toast is a Classic Breakfast Indulgence! This recipe is easy to make and will surely please your family and friends as you open your homes and hearts this season.
What you will need:
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup egg nog
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg or allspice
1 loaf of Texas toast
Pinch of salt
The Method:

Whisk together all ingredients in a large bowl. Preheat flat top or skillet over medium heat.
Dip and cover each piece of bread in the batter flipping twice to ensure even coating.
Cook on each side for 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown and slightly crusted.

Topped with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup. Enjoy!
Home Chef Tips:
Coat your Skillet or flat top with cooking oil but refrain from adding butter until the toast is finished to avoid the bread toasting too fast.
This batter can be made up to two days in advance stored covered in the fridge. Just be sure to whisk the mixture before you begin to redistribute the ingredients.

Once the French toast has achieved the color that you like turn the heat to medium low for the remainder of the cooking time.
Here's to Best Wishes & Happy Dishes,
Shannelle ♥
